WORKING WITH FONTS FOR ALTERNATE LANGUAGE

You need to install the font files that are required for the font if you have not already. To do so, you simply save the file to your C:WindowsFonts folder. You should see a dialogue box saying Installing Font. Once that has been completed, you can use the font in any word processing program.

The following are instructions on how to find the special characters for different languages using Microsoft Word.

1) On the file menu, go to ‘Insert’

2) Select ‘Symbol’ (a popup dialogue window will appear)

3) Select the font from the ‘Font’ dropdown (upper left area of the dialogue box). Please note, the entire wording must be in the same ‘font’, (i.e. you cannot mix between Times New Roman and Monotype Corsiva because you cannot find the proper character)

4) You can now scroll through all the characters that are available for this font to find the proper characters that you need.

5) When you have found the proper character, you can click on the ‘Insert’ button at the bottom right. That will automatically place the character in the document. You can move the dialogue window if you cannot see your document to insure that you have inserted the character in the proper spot.

We request that you use the following fonts when preparing your document to us (we will provide the font to you, if it is not available on your machine):

1) Times New Roman -> Greek, French, Italian, Spanish
2) WP Hebrew David -> Hebrew (do NOT use Times New Roman)
3) Vietnamese -> UVN Mua Thu, UVN Vi Vi
4) Other languages upon request

If you have been provided with a font to be installed on your machine, please do not worry, as viruses cannot be transmitted through ‘font files’. Please save the font files to a folder on your computer, then ‘save/move’ them to your C:WindowsFonts folder. There should be a dialogue informing you that you are installing XYZ font. Once that is done, the font name should appear in the ‘Font’ dropdown as outlined in step 3) from above.
