Wedding favors are often the last item to be decided upon when going down your wedding checklist. Here are some great but inexpensive Wedding favor ideas that will help give your wedding that special personal touch.
Candles are one of the simplest and inexpensive wedding favors. You can find different types of candles readily available at very affordable prices. To decorate the candle, to make it more personalized, wrap it with cellophane and tie a bow at the top to enclosed the candle in the cellophane. Then wrap a paper band printed with a cute poem or phrase with your names and the date of the wedding around the middle of the candle securing it at the back side. You can choose paper to go with the colours used for your wedding. One suggestion is to buy a pear shaped candle and print “the perfect pair” on the paper band.
Candy is another inexpensive wedding favor. You can find a number of different ways to package the candy without spending too much. One way to do this is to purchase clear cellophane bags and fill them with coloured candies to match your wedding colours. All that is required is a ribbon tied in a bow at the top with a tag with your names and the date. This is not only a very inexpensive wedding favor idea but it can also be assembled at the last minute if you are pressed for time. Another inexpensive way to use candy as a wedding favor is to purchase small tins and fill them with the candy of your choice. Stick a personalized sticker on the top with a cute phrase like, "Mint to be."
Packets of flower or vegetable seed also make great wedding favors which are also very affordable. You can stack up a few different types of seeds and wrap with a piece of vellum or rice paper and some ribbon. Add a seal with a pressed flower or your monogram printed on the front for added elegance.
Chocolates or truffles tend to be the most common giveaway at a wedding. Again, they are readily available at a number of different stores so it will not be difficult for you to source good quality chocolates. Make it a special gift with custom packaging. Find boxes to match your wedding colours and stack them up or line them up on a table to create a beautiful presentation. Print a small sign that says, “Thank you for being a part of our special day. Please enjoy a treat!” in front and let your guests grab one on the way out the door. If you have stackable cake platters or dessert platters on hand you can stack the boxes on those as well.
